Cardiff Highlands House

This project involved expanding a single story family home with a second level addition and the creation a roof top deck maximizing ocean views for the master suite and bedrooms.

The project also includes a first level remodel of the main entry, kitchen, living room, the creation of a guest suite and garage expansion.

The home sits within a Coastal Zoning jurisdiction which added a level of complexity when it came to designing the remodel and addition. The pre-prescribed setbacks meant that the existing footprint had very limited options in the sense of expansion on the first floor. The second floor addition provided the ability to open the first level floor plan and enhance the flow. The bedrooms were moved upstairs giving them access to the first viewing deck.

The end result allowed the owners to increase their living space, enhance the connection between their back yard and living area, gain ocean views and update the flow and livability of their home.
